Amazing Remix Album From Sunwølf – SWIII!

Sunwølf has been brave enough to let other artists remix their music with an absolutely magnificent outcome. I was truly overwhelmed with the quality and how the tracks still being true the original has been transformed into something new. (I have to be honest – I wasn’t expecting it to be any good. I’ve heard to many really poor remixes that don’t do anything to the original track or simply just slaughters it.)
I don’t know how they did it, but it only proves what talents there are out there.
Another really interesting thing with this remix album is that your get to hear different remixes of the same track from different artists. An example is ’Lotus Island’ one of my favourite tracks on Beholden…, both RedTails and Dead Sea Apes does incredible versions of this droning spiritual.

A dreamy electro-pop version of ’In The Darkened River I Found The Silence Loom’ by Swimming TV is maybe the one track on this remix album that is the farthest from the original in terms of the mood, together with Clothsworkers daring drum and bass make-over of ’The Widow’s Oil’. Matt Collings also makes his own version of ’The Widow’s Oil’, where a trembling, vibrating, raw guitar does the major work, making this track even more unnerving than the original.

Black Sky takes ’Heathens Rest’ bleak atmosphere, enhances it and makes it painfully beautiful.

I didn’t know it was possible to make the original track ’Beholden To Nothing And No One’ anymore desolate, barren, emotional and chilling, but Pale World manages to do just that.

Well SWIII is well worth a listen!
